Monica completed her Undergraduate Law Degree at the University of Leicester. Following this she completed her Postgraduate studies in Criminology. She took a career gap from Law in which she worked as a recruitment consultant working with companies such as Boots and Hobbycraft. She then decided to go back into the Legal profession and completed her LPC at De Montfort University in 2018.
Upon graduation, Monica worked as a paralegal at some national firms and gained experience in employment law and governance & regulatory law. She then completed her training contract in 2024 in which she did a 2-year seat in private litigation. During this time, she was shortlisted for “Trainee of the Year” by the Derby & District Law Society. Following her training contract, she ended up specializing in Contentious Probate which she practiced in as a Newly Qualified Solicitor dealing with will challenges and inheritance act disputes. She is now an Associate Solicitor in our Litigation Department in which she brings strong people skills, a great eye for detail and willingness to think outside the box.
In her free time Monica enjoys all sorts of travel and hopes to visit as many countries as possible! She also likes to volunteer and has raised money for charities like MacMillan Cancer Support for whom she raised thousands of pounds completing a 25-mile hike. She hopes to one day climb Mount Kilimanjaro and raise even more money.
